Take care at the coast this August bank holiday

Ahead of the August bank holiday weekend, with many people likely to enjoy a visit to the coast, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution’s (RNLI) volunteer lifeboat crews and lifeguards are urging people to put safety first.

This safety reminder comes ahead of what is traditionally a very busy weekend for the charity’s volunteer crews, who are on-call 24/7, and its lifeguards, who are this year patrolling more than 160 beaches. Last year, the RNLI saw an increase in its rescue activity over the long weekend, compared with the previous year’s August bank holiday.
