Push your boat out for ‘Push the Boat Out’ Day

July 21st is the RYA ‘Push the Boat Out’ day when boaters across the country are being asked to take to the water to showcase boating to the nation and show their support for our Olympic and Paralympic sailors prior to the London 2012 Games.
Industry organisations across the country have signed up to take part in Push the Boat Out day and will be hosting a range of activities and events including cruises, taster sessions and mass flotillas.
“We hope that clubs, centres and the marine industry really get in to the spirit of the day and encourage as many of their members and clients as possible to get out on the water on Saturday 21 July and have fun. It’s the last Saturday before the start of the London 2012 Games and thousands of people will be giving the British Sailing Team a wonderful send off, waving flags and wishing them ‘good luck’ on ‘Push the Boat Out’ day”, commented Celia Edgington, Sail for Gold programme co-ordinator who is organising the event.
It could be something as simple as wearing red white and blue if you are out on the water that day or dressing your boat with patriotic flags and bunting. The RYA PR team will be promoting the event to national, regional and trade media so it’s a fantastic opportunity to gain some publicity for your organisation. The BMF is one of the many supporters of Push the Boat Out Day. For more information about Sail for Gold, Push the Boat Out and details on how you can get involved visit the RYA website…
